Parents' IDs unlawfully blocked | Court orders Home Affairs to register children
CAPE TOWN - The High Court has ordered the Home Affairs Department to register the birth or ID of babies and children even if their parent’s ID’s are unlawfully blocked or under investigation.

The Children’s Institute has joined this case, siding with the court highlighting how the blocking of a parent’s ID harms their child’s right to be registered at birth.
