JOHANNESBURG - In light of the ongoing measles outbreak, Gauteng Health is advising parents to protect their children.
Officials launched a six-week campaign to stop the spread.
It runs from 4 August until 12 September.
Parents are being urged to sign consent forms to allow their children to be vaccinated.
Gauteng has recorded over 400 confirmed cases since January.
Gauteng Health's Mari van der Westhuizen said the numbers that have been recorded are concerning.
"The vaccine is tested and trusted around the world and is safe and we do not have any side effects," she said.
"We would like parents to understand that and make sure their children are vaccinated.
