Parliament committee to probe lack of lifestyle audits

CAPE TOWN - There are concerns that lifestyle audits for government employees are not happening.

The Public Service and Administration Portfolio Committee says it will investigate. The audits are expected to be carried out yearly. 

Previously a promise was made to scrutinise government officials and directors who flash their wealth.

The lifestyle audits are a promise made by the Public Service Department to root out any possible corruption.

The committee says these audits are compulsory for all government departments, but very few have been done.
