DURBAN - The war of words between Fadiel Adams and Parliament is far from over
The National Coloured Congress leader has now threatened legal action against Parliament, accusing it of defaming him.
Adams said his attorneys will be in communication with Parliament in the ‘course of next week’.
“When that institution starts defaming people for whatever political reason they want to, I don't understand. We must also remember this is the same Parliament that allowed the PKTT to trample on its sovereignty… I'm not going to play stupid; what's going on here is that it's a mess,” he said.
His comments come after Parliament disputed Adams’ claims that he had written to the National Assembly Speaker about concerns of a salary hike of secretary of Parliament and concerns over the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) having broken the authority of the House.
But Adams said he stands firm on his claims, insisting he has proof.
“Parliament has found itself in the wrong because we've sent those emails and we have proof of the emails… Perhaps Parliament will now apologise to me because what they've, in actual fact, done is they've accused me of lying," he said.
Adams also reiterated that his testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry will be backed up by evidence.
“We're going to back it up with hard copy. So, this is a good time for certain people to start getting worried.
