Parly's ad hoc committee moves closer to finalising probe

CAPE TOWN - Parliament's SAPS Ad Hoc Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday to consider its draft report.

The committee was established to investigate allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal’s top cop, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

Mkhwanazi accused high-ranking politicians, police leaders and criminal cartels of infiltrating South Africa’s criminal justice system.

Parliament Speaker Thoko Didiza has granted the committee its fifth deadline extension, giving it until September to conclude its work.
