JOHANNESBURG - Police are investigating two counts of murder and four of attempted murder after a shooting in Zamimpilo Informal Settlement in Langlaagte, west of Johannesburg.
Police said more than 40 people were sitting outside a tavern when three armed suspects approached and opened fire without warning.
Two men died at the scene while four others suffered gunshot wounds and were rushed to hospital.
Police have not yet identified the suspects, and the motive remains unclear.
Investigators continue to comb the area for evidence.
