BOHLOKONG - Police in the Free State are investigating a murder after a 22-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her boyfriend.
The incident is said to have happened in Bohlokong on Sunday afternoon.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring, it is alleged that the deadly incident happened at around 4:00 pm
“The couple, who were in a relationship, argued at their residence. During the altercation, the boyfriend allegedly shot his girlfriend, who died at the scene.
“He then allegedly went into the street, where he sustained a gunshot wound and was subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment,” Mophiring said.
Mophiring said the motive behind the incident has not yet been established; however, investigations continue.
“The firearm was seized for further investigation and forensic analysis.”
