BOKSBURG - Reiger Park EMS Chaplain Eddy Walkerley has accused some police officers of colluding with gangs in the area.
Four people were killed in a shooting on Friday night in Reiger Park, East of Johannesburg.
Two Anti-Gang Unit officers are among those dead.
Walkerley claimed some officers are on gangsters' payroll and are protecting criminals.
"We know the gangsters, we know names. But there are people that know where they stay, there's people that know their faces.
“The people are living in fear, because should you go to the police, the local police, you will be the next target, no matter what.
“Our police are working with a lot of the gangsters. A lot of the policemen are on the payroll of the gangsters, and I'm not afraid to say it. I will say it and I'll even say it in their faces.
“I said it on Friday evening, whilst on the crime scene, I mentioned it, and I'm going to say it again, our police must get out of the pockets of gangsters."
