JOHANNESBURG - Dark times ahead this evening as power utility Eskom implements Stage 5 rolling blackouts.

Failure of five generating units at the Medupi and Duvha Power Stations has limited generating capacity.
Three of these units have since been returned to service.
But Eskom has to replenish the emergency reserves on which it's been drawing extensively.
