President extends SARS commissioner's term

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the term of office for the SARS Commissioner.

Edward Kieswetter will remain the SA Taxman for two more years.

The decision follows an agreement to enable a leadership transition.

Kieswetter was appointed in 2019 to a five-year term.

He's spearheaded efforts for the revenue service to improve its collection rates and go after defaulters.
