PSC probes senior managers' qualifications

The Public Service Commission is verifying the qualifications of thousands of senior government officials. The Public Service Department revealed that many officials are not qualified for their positions.

 

JOHANNESBURG - The Public Service Commission is verifying the qualifications of thousands of senior government officials.

The Public Service Department revealed that many officials are not qualified for their positions.

It said some do not even have a Bachelor’s Degree or advanced diploma.

The PSC is now looking at the qualifications of over 2,000 senior managers.

Minister Thulas Nxesi says this is all part of the Department's vision to professionalise the public service.
