Government is said to have put a new offer on the table and unions, including Nehawu, Denosa and Sapu, have agreed to stop striking while negotiations are finalised.

JOHANNESBURG - Unions representing over a million public sector workers are back at the negotiating table with government, with high hopes that a wage agreement is imminent.

Unions including Nehawu, Denosa and Sapu have agreed to stop the strike and return to work while negotiations are finalised.

That's according to an agreement settlement issued by the Public Service Co- Ordinating Bargaining Council.

A meeting kicked off on Wednesday afternoon to process the settlement agreement, together with the salary adjustment for the financial year 2023/24.
