Questions arise after baby dies on first day at crèche

DURBAN - The cause of death of a nine-month-old baby in Zwelisha, Durban is still unknown.

Baby Siphesihle Msomi died in his sleep at a daycare centre.

The family says they need answers as their child was not sick and did not have any health problems.

But the caregiver says the father of the child had told her the baby was sick before he enrolled him at daycare.

Paramedics who responded to the call say the baby was found naked and when they assessed him, he showed no signs of life.

Police say an inquest docket has been opened.
