The African Rail Industry Association says the challenges faced by Transnet should not be the company's alone.

African Rail Industry Association CEO Mesela Kope-Nhlapo said, "challenges faced by Transnet they're not Transnet problems alone but SA problem."

"The vandalism takes place among communities."

"As communities we need to start owning the infrastructure that belongs to us and realise the vandalism means job losses. We have to and we have no choice but to work with Transnet."

"We are doing a no of projects that will require permission to access their network."
