Ramaphosa breaks silence on Masemola

PRETORIA - President Cyril Ramaphosa says that he will act in accordance with the law after National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola was served with a summons to appear in court.

Ramaphosa said he has noted the decision to charge Masemola.

Masemola is expected to appear in court on 21 April over a R360-million police tender linked to Medicare24.

Ramaphosa has also acknowledged the arrest of 12 senior police officers connected to the same procurement scandal.

He added that government is working with the police minister to ensure that the SAPS remains stable.
