JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa will this week receive Heads of Mission-Designate from 20 countries including the United States.
US Ambassador to South Africa Leo Brent Bozell III had a rocky start after being reprimanded by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation on his comments about South Africa.
The ambassadors and high commissioners nominated by their governments to serve in South Africa will formally present their credentials to Ramaphosa.
The ceremony will take place on Wednesday at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria.

Kingsley Makhubela, former Ambassador to Portugal and Kenya said the event presented an opportunity for South Africa to interact and interface with the rest of the world.
“It gives South Africa a better opportunity to have access to some of these countries through their ambassadors and high commissioners. It’s a very important event for the country to have this large presence of diplomats. They also contribute to the economy of Tshwane and they are a very important component in terms of the diplomatic evolution of the country," Makhubela said.
