JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has released a National Water Action Plan aimed at securing a reliable water supply for the country.
The plan lays out practical steps to tackle the root causes of the country's water crisis, including ageing infrastructure, struggling municipalities and corruption in the sector.
It was developed by the National Water Crisis Committee, which was set up after this year's State of the Nation Address.

Ramaphosa said the government wants to replicate the approach used to tackle load shedding, with the goal of restoring reliable water services.
The plan brings together all spheres of government and other key partners to drive implementation.
