JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has slammed critics trying to smear the country’s image, saying regional neighbours must respect local legal processes.
That was the clear message from the president during a heated Q&A session with the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Among the many things questioned, Ramaphosa addressed the recent nationwide anti-migrant protests that drove thousands of foreigners out of South Africa.

Ramaphosa said he notes that this is a complex and multifaceted problem and, as such, is working on tracing the critics.
He said they are tracing these critics.
"We are at work and working it through and deciphering precisely the various roles that have been played by our own people, as well as those we perceive to be outsiders who want to disturb the stability in South Africa by getting South Africans to seem to be at war with Africans from other nations.
