JOHANNESBURG - As Gauteng’s temperatures climb, so too does water use.
Rand Water is reminding residents that level 1 restrictions are in place until the end of summer.
That means you can not water your gardens from 6am to 6pm.
Using hoses to wash cars, driveways and paved areas is also prohibited.
The limitations are in place to prevent stress on reservoirs, and avoid total outages.
Rand Water is currently losing over 40% of water to leakages and is encouraging municipalities to take care of their infrastructure.
