Reiger Park Shooting | Six people gunned down

BOKSBURG - National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola is expected to visit Reiger Park, Boksburg, after a deadly mass shooting last night.

Six people have been killed after gunmen opened fire while driving through the neighbourhood. Among the dead is a man believed to have gang ties.

Several victims were mothers who rushed out to protect their children when gunfire broke out — only to be caught in the crossfire.

Police say no arrests have been made as yet.

eNCA reporter, Theodore Mashele, spoke to Reiger Park councillor, Edith Klassen, who expressed deep concern about the violence taking place in her community.

"There's no guarantee that it's going to stop. There's no guarantee that this will be the end"

She lamented at the lack of support from the police in dealing with the rampant violence that Reiger park is experiencing. Klassen recalled another shooting from the previous year where a family lost their three sons, and have not been able to get any answers from the police about the status of the investigation.
