Residents don't want Sherwood becoming a migrant refuge

DURBAN - The community of Sherwood has said they want the police and the Durban municipality to ensure that they will not have to contend with foreigners using their sports field as a refugee camp.

Thousands of Malawian nationals have been moved to a new site in North Beach to ease the pressure on the Sherwood area.

Despite the recent relocation of Malawian nationals in the community, members remain anxious that their community has become somewhat of a refugee center for foreigners seeking assistance back to their homeland.
