JOHANNESBURG - City Power’s cutoff drives may come to nothing if the utility is not able to address the ease with which reconnections happen.
The utility targeted entities supplied by its Alexandra depot, hoping to recoup R15-million.
Among those hit were repeat offenders who had taken matters into their own hands after previous encounters with City Power.

Between the utility and law enforcement, more will have to be done to make sure gains from operations like this one are not in vain.
While customers dispute their cutoffs, City Power will continue with switch-off operations on a regular basis.
