CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Police Commissioner, Thembisile Patekile has paid tribute Andre Lincoln, describing him as a skilled leader.
The former anti-gang unit head and late former president Nelson Mandela’s bodyguard retired from active duty in 2021, but remained concerned about rampant crime.
He died almost two weeks ago after a long illness.
Lincoln has been described as a distinguished veteran of the South African Police Service and a dedicated servant of the nation.
Reverend Allan Boesak claims Lincoln died from a broken heart.
He shared these sentiments at Lincoln's funeral.
