RIP Khethamabala Sithole | IFP calls for justice as slain leader is laid to rest

INKANDLA, KZN - The IFP believes that police investigations will soon shed light on the motive behind the assassination of its Deputy Chief Whip, Khethamabala Sithole.

The party has dismissed suggestion that Sithole's murder was politically motivated. The 67-year-old was shot dead while attending a political event in Katlehong last month.

Sithole advanced through the ranks of the party, starting from leading a constituency in Ekurhuleni in 1999, moving up to become the IFP's Gauteng Chairperson in 2008, and eventually serving as Deputy Chief Whip.

He dedicated fifteen years of his life to parliament, and at the time of his death, was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies.

eNCA's Nkosikhona Malinga-Mnisi reports that he has been laid to rest in Nkandla.
