JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink is blaming the ANC-led government for the failures in Hammanskraal.
At a briefing, the opposition mayor outlined the neglect by the city's previous mayors prior to the 2016 elections.

Brink says upgrading the Rooivaal wastewater treatment plant was key to the health of the residents because more than 35% of the city's wastewater is processed at Rooiwal.
"For many years, the people of Hammanskraal have not had portable water, that is to say, water that is suitable for drinking and cooking. The cause is the underperformance of the Rooiwal Waste Water Treatment Plant which releases effluent into the Arpies River that is of such poor quality that it cannot be treated according to acceptable standards at the Temba Purification Plant," he said.
