SA Human Rights Commission hosts conference on responsible migration

JOHANNESBURG - A National Conference on Human-Border and responsible Migration gets underway in Johannesburg on Wednesday.

The South African Human Rights Commission is hosting this two-day gathering.

It follows an increased number of complaints related to migration and its impact on human rights.

The Commission says porous borders and migrants' access to health care services will be on the agenda.

Education as well as crime and high unemployment rate will also form part of key discussions. The conference aims to explore the root causes of migration and to strengthen coordinated responses.
