SA-US Relations | Brigety's remarks distasteful, says Ramaphosa
JOHANNESBURG - While the US ambassador to SA, Reuben Brigety, has apologised for accusing SA of supplying Russia with arms, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says his remarks and how he handled the matter were distasteful.
Ramaphosa is calling for an urgent probe to test if there is any truth in Brigety's allegations.
"We want the retired judge to look at it because yes, it is a serious matter which we want to be looked into and that was discussed in the delegation in the United States by our people and they had very cordial discussions, very good discussions because we wanted to show and demonstrate to them that we take these matters seriously," he said.
