JOHANNESBURG - The South African Municipal Workers Union in Johannesburg is vowing to continue with protest action on Friday.

Municipal workers are demanding better salaries.

On Thursday, they brought traffic to a standstill on the M1.

They want Mayor Mpho Phalatse to address them.

Scores of motorists were left frustrated as the highway was blockaded for hours.

This is despite the presence of metro police.
