JOHANNESBURG - The South African National Defence Force has rubbished claims that its chief, General Rudzani Maphwanya, defied orders from Defence Minister Angie Motshekga.

Maphwanya allegedly refused to reinstate Colonel Eugene Motati, who was dismissed following allegations of sexual harassment in 2019.
Motshekga ordered Motati's reinstatement after the Military Ombud found that the allegations him against were untested.
