SA’s corruption emergency | Mapisa-Nqakula to surrender passport

PRETORIA - Former National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has until 4pm to surrender her passport.

She appeared in the Pretoria magistrate's court last week and was granted R50,000 bail.

Part of the bail conditions is to hand over the travel documents to police or the investigating officer.

Mapisa-Nqakula is accused of accepting bribes from a military contractor while she was Defence Minister.

She quit as Speaker and MP a day before she appeared in court.

The former speaker insists she has done nothing wrong.
