JOHANNESBURG -The wait for justice continues for victims of the Usindiso building fire.
Judgment proceedings in the case against Lawrance Sithembiso Mdlalose have been postponed.
A scheduling clash delays the judgment because the presiding judge is occupied by another trial.
Mdlalose faces 76 counts of murder, 12 counts of attempted murder, as well as charges of arson and defeating the ends of justice.

The charges relate to the 31 August 2023 fire at the Usindiso Building in Marshalltown, which claimed 76 lives and injured dozens more.
The State alleges Mdlalose set the building alight to conceal the assault of another resident. The fire spread rapidly through the building, trapping occupants inside.
Although Mdlalose admits to starting the fire during the Gauteng Commission of Inquiry, and his written confession was ruled admissible, he pleads not guilty to all charges.
