SCOPA | Zibi vows to keep close eye on public purse

JOHANNESBURG - Newly-appointed SCOPA chair Songezo Zibi wants to nurture a culture of care of public money.

Over the last two days, several MPs have been elected as chairpersons of portfolio committees.

SCOPA is an important one, ensuring that taxpayers' money spent by government officials is accounted for.

"The most important thing to do is not to ensure accountability from the executives, but to also help build the culture of care around public money where it is used prudently," he said.
