REDCLIFFE - Search and rescue teams are expected to continue working through the rubble to search for bodies beneath the collapsed Redcliffe Temple in KwaZulu-Natal.

The Temple owner and four others died in Friday's disaster.

The mission, which also relied on heavy machinery such as an excavator and K9 dogs, encountered obstacles including unfavourable weather conditions.

Some of the victims' names have been publicly released.

These include the owner, Vick Panday, and electrician Jayseelan Perumal.

Perumal is the father of a first responder with Reaction Unit South Africa, who was able to hear his voice on Friday before it went silent.

The owner's sister, Sushi Inder, says, " I will really miss him. My heart cries. Because he was not just a brother, he was like a friend to me. But you know what, we pray to Krishna and I know Krishna gained and we lost.”

The KZN Premier Thami Ntuli is promising a thorough investigation to bring clarity and much-needed answers.
