Second-last group of SANDF troops returns from DRC

BLOEMFONTEIN - The second-last group of SANDF soldiers has returned from eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Several contingents arrived this month following their deployment as part of SADC's peacekeeping mission.

The phased withdrawal began after M23 rebels seized key cities in North and South Kivu.

Troops are back, but efforts continue to recover equipment and redeploy support staff.

The returning soldiers will undergo a process to help them reintegrate into civilian life.
