JOHANNESBURG - A manhunt is under way after the killing of a senior taxi official in Soweto.
Thamsanga Moyo, chairperson of the Gauteng National Taxi Alliance, was shot and killed while driving alone on the Soweto Highway near Diepkloof.
Police say he was blocked by two vehicles before gunmen opened fire.
While the motive is still unclear, the attack is believed to be taxi-related.
Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has called for calm, while the investigation is under way.
The department is urging the public to come forward with any information.
