Service delivery | Home Affairs online application system to the rescue

JOHANNESBURG - In an effort to address frustratingly long queues at Home Affairs offices, the department has introduced an online system and extended its services by opening branches at popular shopping centres.

Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi visited a branch that opened at Cresta Mall in Johannesburg earlier this week.

Many customers have welcomed the initiative.

The department is still worried about the backlog of citizens who remain undocumented.

It says it's also making progress in its engagement with banks to expand its partnerships to assist with the issuance of documents.
