Shebe third bail bid off the table

POLOKWANE - Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, has had his third bail bid off the table.

His application has been removed from the court roll after his new lawyer asked for more time to prepare.

This was heard when Chauke appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Advocate Muthelwana Sikwani has taken over the case and has requested outstanding documents from the State.

Chauke faces 21 charges that include four counts of attempted murder, culpable homicide, robbery with aggravating circumstances and firearm-related offences.

He has been in custody since his arrest in November, for a shooting incident in Polokwane.

His previous bail attempts have failed, including an appeal dismissed by the Limpopo High Court in August.

For now, pre-trial proceedings will continue as his new legal team prepares for the next step.
