JOHANNESBURG - Prasa is apologising to Shosholoza Meyl customers after another failed trip.

People travelling to Cape Town from Johannesburg had to complete the journey by bus due to a mechanical fault.

The train was expected to arrive in Cape Town on Friday Afternoon.

But mechanical failures led to long delays in De Aar in the Northern Cape.

This led to a shortage of food and water on the train.

Prasa then took a decision to complete the journey by bus.

Another trip to Cape Town earlier this month ended abruptly due to theft of overhead cables.
