SIU to probe eThekwini's water and Sanitation Dept

PRETORIA -President Cyril Ramaphosa has taken a hard stance against corruption in KwaZulu-Natal. 

This as the president has issued a proclamation authorising the SIU, to probe allegations of maladministration within the eThekwini Metro's water and sanitation department.

The investigation will focus on services provided to human settlements and schools but also cover claims of unlawful and improper conduct from 2015 up to 2025.

SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago contract that was entered into back in 2015 which came to light in 2020. 

He said whistleblower indicated that people were paid to carry out the project but services were never delivered as per contract. 

To date Kganyago said they have not determined how many people are involved in this project and this information will be revealed after investigations
