SONA 2024 | Budget set at R6.5m

CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramphosa will deliver the final SONA of the sixth administration on Thursday.

Secretary of the National Assembly Masibulelo Xaso said the budget for this year is R6.5-million.

"Just to make sure we are able to take care of some of the logistical arrangements that are relevant to something like this," he said.

He said there's significance to this year's SONA because of the sentimental value attached.

"We don't know what the president will say but he may reflect on that.

"Certainly as Parliament, that is really what is influencing us as we made the arrangements for SONA."
