Stage 2 water restrictions in Gauteng

JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water continues to implement stage two restrictions.

Gauteng residents are urged to reduce their water consumption.

This despite scorching temperatures continuing this weekend.

The City of Tshwane says restrictions will remain in place until reservoir storage is back at 60-percent.

Johannesburg Water says its reservoirs also remain severely strained.

The Crosby and Hursthill reservoirs in the southwest of the city are still critically low, and residents in high-lying feeder areas can expect low pressure or no supply.

Further north, the Helderkruin and Honeydew reservoirs have reportedly recovered overnight.
