State attorney advocate Tilas Chabalala says Steenkamp is only feeling sorry for herself, because she got caught.
The accountant faced over 300 counts of theft,
and was convicted of stealing R500-million from her employer, spanning a period of 13 years.

Chabalala said, "I respectfully submit that the accused is not remorseful at all. Many accused persons may well regret their conduct but that without remorse does not translate to genuine remorse."

"Whether that offender is sincerely remorseful or simply feeling sorry for being caught is a factual question, the strength of the case against the accused, remember they have pled guilty on the charges."

"It is respectfully submitted that the accused did not show genuine contrition. It is very clear that she was motivated by greed."
