Striking Putco workers accuse employer of threatening them

JOHANNESBURG - Striking bus drivers have accused Putco of threatening workers.

They have been on an unprotected strike since last week, demanding a six percent wage increase.

At least 1,000 employees face being fired for participating in the strike.

Drivers have been protesting outside one of the bus company’s head offices on New Canada Road and say they will not back down on their demands.
