DURBAN - Over 19 people have been arrested during violent protests in Durban last night.
The city has been on fire this week, with shops looted, vehicles torched and property destroyed.
KZN Premier Thami Ntuli wants army deployment to quell the ant-illegal migrant protests,
against the processing of asylum seekers.
Demonstrations continued last night despite government's withdrawal of the directive.
KZN Police Spokesperson Robert Netshiunda confirmed the arrests.
“We can tell you that over 19 people were arrested and most of them are students. They have been charged with public violence,” Netshiunda said.
