Taxi owner gunned down inside his vehicle in Nyanga

NYANGA -A taxi owner affiliated with the Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association was shot dead inside his vehicle in Brown’s Farm on Tuesday.

Emergency services on the scene, confirmed that the man succumbed to gun wounds after the attack.

This attack comes on the final day for rival associations CATA and CODETA to resolve their ongoing dispute over routes. Failure to find peace will result in a 30-day closure.

Western Cape Transport announced it will shut down the Mfuleni to Somerset West route for a month.

An interdict is already in place to prevent further violence, with the dispute already claiming six lives.
