GQEBERHA - Tensions ran high at the ANC Nelson Mandela Bay Region’s 113th anniversary celebration in New Brighton.
Chaos erupted as members of a parallel ANC Youth League structure clashed over their exclusion in the programme. Provincial Chairperson, Oscar Mabuyane, had to intervene to restore order.
The clashes come as the region prepares for its elective conference in a few months time.
Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor, Babalwa Lobishe, and former Regional Secretary, Luyolo Nqakula, are contesting for the position of regional chairperson.
