Thabo Bester | R1.4m spent to fetch Bester, Magudumana

JOHANNESBURG - The South African government has spent R1m repatriating Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana from Tanzania to SA.

A delegation of 14 people was sent to the East African country to nab the fugitive couple.

This was revealed to Parliament's Home Affairs committee by Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.

Motsoaledi says the backlash his department has received is unfair because the chartered flight used was the cheapest option.
