Transnet strike enters second week
JOHANNESBURG - Trade Union Satawu has rejected Transnet's 6 percent wage offer.
Untu and Satawu have been holding out for an increase that is above the inflation rate of 7.6 percent after their initial demand of a hike of between 12 percent and 13.5 percent.
The strike action threatens to bring the country's economy to its knees.
Since the strike began ten days ago, unions have been calling for an offer in line with the cost of living.
