Two-day Durban taxi strike leaves commuters stuck

DURBAN - The SA National Taxi Council has announced a two-day shutdown in Durban.

It will leave thousands of commuters, including workers and schoolchildren, stranded.

Operators are upset over the impounding of taxis amid a delay in granting permits.

A marathon nine-hour meeting last night failed to find a resolution to the impasse.
