Unhappy Free State ANC members are threatening to interdict the party's upcoming December Congress.

BLOEMFONTEIN - Unhappy ANC members in the Free State are threatening to interdict the party's upcoming December National Congress.

Aggrieved members have already launched legal action to get the ANC NEC to dissolve the province's Interim Provincial Committee.

They say the time and mandate of the interim structure has lapsed while it failed to hold its long-delayed provincial elective conference.

But the Free State IPC says it’s now ready to host the conference by the end of this month.

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa raised concerns about collapsed party structures and hopes the Letsema campaign will revive branches that are not in good standing in the Free State.

The province's interim provincial committee says it’s not fazed by the pending legal action, and growing calls for it to be disbanded.
